Privacy policy
Bulky ("Bulky", "we", "us") makes shipping software for brands that sell big-and-bulky goods. This policy explains what information we collect through shipbulky.com and our early-access services, how we use it, and the choices you have. Bulky is based in Ontario, Canada.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you request a cost audit or contact us, we collect your name, work email, company, website, shipping volume, storefront, the carriers you use and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Shipping data you share. If you take part in an audit or early access, you may share orders, carrier invoices, rates, shipment and claims data. We use it only to provide the audit or service to you.
- Website usage. We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not use cookies to understand how the site is used, such as pages viewed, referring sites and campaign tags in links. We also receive standard technical information such as browser type.
How we use it
- To prepare your cost audit, respond to you and provide our services.
- With your consent, to email you about your audit and about Bulky products and early access.
- To improve Bulky. We may produce aggregated benchmarks, for example average accessorial costs by product category, that cannot identify you or your company.
- To keep our services secure and to meet legal obligations.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information. We don't share your shipping data with carriers or with other shippers, and we don't use it to sell freight against you.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Bulky, including Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (email and contact management). They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services. Some of them store or process information in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
Email and consent
We send marketing email only with your consent. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also withdraw consent at any time by writing to us. We will still send messages you need about an audit or service you've asked for.
How long we keep it
We keep audit requests and contact details for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer. Shipping data shared for an audit is deleted within 90 days of delivering the audit, unless you become a customer or ask us to keep it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll respond within 30 days.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
Changes
We may update this policy as Bulky grows. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and we'll let you know of significant changes.
